A Permacath (tunneled hemodialysis catheter)<\/strong> is a soft, flexible tube placed into a large vein\u2014usually in the neck (internal jugular vein)<\/strong> or sometimes the femoral vein<\/strong>\u2014to provide temporary or long-term access<\/strong> for hemodialysis, medication administration, and apheresis.<\/p>
